Engaged : Unleashing Your Organization's Potent...
Employee engagement results in improved motivation and better job satisfaction, and thus, a lower cost to value ratio for your human personnel expenditure. It goes like this: while every employee adds to the bottom line, every engaged employee adds that much more.
Engaged : unleashing your organization's potent...
You can leverage your communication skills to drive employee empowerment by fostering open dialogue. Research shows that workers whose managers are approachable are more engaged which, in turn, cultivates a team environment wherein members are comfortable sharing ideas and challenging one another.
But only 34 percent of U.S. employees are engaged, while 16 percent feel actively disengaged in their work and workplace. Discover what that means and how to improve employee engagement at your organization.
For example, they may arrive late or skip work some days, produce low-quality work, or say negative things about your company to colleagues, job candidates, customers, and prospective customers. In addition, some actively disengaged employees may be looking for a new job, but not all-which can cause disengagement to affect morale throughout your team.
Break your data down by employee characteristics to identify any differences between groups. For example, look at data by gender, ethnicity, age, and other demographic characteristics to ensure underrepresented or marginalized groups feel actively engaged. If applicable, you may also want to track data by location and remote status to see how the employee experience differs between groups.
For the most part, champions and ambassadors tend to be the most high performing individuals within an organization, whereas your influencers come and sometimes do include unengaged employees, potentially disruptive employees, and cynics. But essentially, they are people that have a really strong voice and they have an ear to the ground and really can help you drive change. And by listening to them and using them as a sounding board for your programs or a test case for potential engagement programs, you can really tap into their knowledge and surface any potential issues or barriers to success really quickly. And finally, influence networks aren't necessarily official. So we tend to see champion ambassador programs launched with a big fanfare. You know, they wear the champion badge almost as like a medal of honor. But the influence in that where it tends to operate slightly under the radar and it's a much more subtle tool to use to really start to get under the skin of certain campaigns.

Importance: Intrinsic motivation drives performance. Research shows that employees who are more engaged are more productive, and students who are more engaged in the classroom perform at the highest levels. If you want your organization to be as effective as it can be, you should focus on having employees who are motivated by the organization, its people, and the work itself. 041b061a72
